2011 New York Auto Show: The 2011 New York Auto Show has finally opened and Hyundai debuted its all-new fourth-generation 2012 Hyundai Accent to the public.The Accent was presented on stage in New York sporting the automaker's new "Fluidic Sculpture" design language.The vehicle is also set to be offered in both sedan and five-door body styles, with the subcompact promised to be the best-in-class in terms of increased fuel economy and power.
The Accent is powered by an all-new 1.6-liter direct-injected "Gamma" four-cylinder engine that can produce 138-horsepower.The engine then employs a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission to send the power to the front wheels.The vehicle also comes redesigned with new technology and more safety features.The entry-level Accent will be sold at a price of $12,445, with the rang-topping trim at $16,795.
